Eat All You Can Cronuts (and more!) at Oakroom Restaurant, Oakwood Ortigas

Forget T.G.I.F. Here’s one good reason why you should now start saying Thank God It’s Saturday.


Oakroom, a restaurant located at the 6th floor of Oakwood Premier Joy~Nostalg Center Manila in Ortigas, is going to hold a weekly Saturday Night Fever Buffet from 6 PM – 11 PM starting January 11.
 
 
The highlight of Oakroom’s Saturday Night Fever buffet: a live station featuring Chef Jerome Cartailler’s savory, sweet, baked, and fried cronuts.
Savory selection includes Cronut Benedict made with poached egg, smoked ham and hollandaise sauce, Cronut de France with a thick slab of duck liver whose fat is cut by balsamic vinegar glaze, Cronut Philly with shredded beef, gooey cheese sauce, and onions, and Cronut de Pinoy made with pulled adobo and cheddar topped with crackling.
The sweet toothed on the other hand can make their own cronut dessert by mixing and matching chocolate, vanilla, pistachio, coffee, Nutella, chopped nuts, fresh fruits, Smarties, raisins and cinnamon.
Aside from the cronuts, which are crispy, light, and not-at-all oily—arguably the best we’ve tried in the metro, not to be missed are Chef Jerome’s take on classic desserts such as mud pie, apple crumble, and blueberry cheesecake. There’s even a bowl filled with Magnum ice cream—all-you-can-eat—also available suppress your dessert cravings.
The comfort food buffet also features a small, but quality, appetizer and main dish selection. The sandwiches section is starred by Norwegian smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich. Their Ruben is also a decent take. Instead of the usual Caesar, they have New York style cheese dog salad and Waldorf.
For the mains, you can have your usual Buffalo wings, an Italian meat ball pasta, and pork ribs. Make the most out of your buffet by getting as many steak slices as you can from the US Ribeye carving station.
