Papa John’s: Only Better Ingredients for a Better Pizza
Various pizza brands in the market today claim to offer the best products and the most value for money. Papa John’s does away with promises. Instead, it only takes pride in what its origins have long been known for, and that is offering better pizza, made only from better ingredients. What Sets It Apart
Patrons of Papa John’s 13 stores in Metro Manila are assured of getting only the best pizza. Since the first restaurant opened in the United States in 1984, Papa John's founder John N. Schnatter has made it his goal to provide better pizzas that are made only from superior-quality ingredients. Its fresh, homemade dough, for instance, are delivered fresh to the stores and never frozen. Its sauces are fashioned out of vine-ripened tomatoes grown in the rich, fertile valleys of central California, and packed within an average of six hours after harvesting. Meats used for the pizza are imported beef and pork, and blended with special seasonings for a hearty texture and mouthwatering flavor.
Papa John’s also uses top-class mozzarella cheese by one of America’s finest cheese producers. Can’t get enough of those black, juicy and flavorful olives? They’re grown, not from here but in the famous “Herrera” grove by the largest quality-focused, grower-owned olive producer in the world. Its green peppers, onions, Italian variety of mushrooms and vegetables are never vacuum-packed but delivered fresh everyday to produce that distinctive flavor and hearty texture.
"Since the first branch in Robinsons Galleria has opened in 2010, Papa John’s has indeed managed to gain a fast-growing group of loyal clientele who are truly after its distinct American taste and fresh ingredients," said Robert P. Ocampo, managing director of Berjaya Pizza Philippines, Inc, a franchisee of Papa John’s International, Inc.
“The customers say that it’s really the same as what they have tried abroad. Meanwhile, those who tried it for the first time, say that it is really better, especially those who are aware of the ingredients that we put in,” added Mr. Ocampo.
The Menu
Papa John`s is known primarily for its better pizzas which come in different flavors. Its bestsellers, the Super Papa, has everything on it, while the Pepperoni Pizza is a favorite among families. The more adventurous prefer the specialty pizzas which include the Spicy Chicken Tropicale, Fisherman’s Catch, Spicy Italian Meatball, Texas Heat, Chicken Bacon Ranch, and Chicken BBQ. Then there are also other flavors such as the Garden Special, Simply Cheese, Hawaiian, and Margherita pizzas.
At Papa John's, the pizza crust is not taken away or left uneaten. In fact, the crust are often saved the best for last and dipped into a special garlic butter dip. The dip can be so tasty that some patrons even pour it over the pizza as part of the whole treat.
A unique appetizer which is fast becoming a favorite among spice-loving patrons is the Pepperoncini. This pickled Japaleno is a perfect combination with the pizza. So are the soups, salads and other appetizers such as the Battered Onion Rings, Seasoned Potato Wedges, Mozzarella Sticks, and Herbed Parmesan Breadsticks.
Meanwhile, the Baked Rice meals (Beef and Bacon, Mushroom and Chicken, Bacon and Meatballs) are a hit among students. It can be eaten separately or together with side items such as the Baked Italian Meatballs, Chicken Strips, Cheese Sticks, or Calzone.
Not to be missed are the pastas which consist of Carbonara, Seafood Carbonara, Meatball Bolognaise, Diablo Burst, and new offerings such as the Bacon and Cheese Pomodoro, Sausage Mushroom Rosa, Mediterranean Seafood Linguini. All these are topped with Italian sodas and ice cream floats that come in fruity flavors.
Taking into consideration the appetite and choices of kids, Papa John`s has also prepared a variety of Jr. Papa’s meals. These pastas and pizzas come in their preferred flavors and in small but filling kids’ servings.
Mr. Ocampo said the company is aiming big with an aggressive expansion program that targets more stores in the coming years. With 13 stores and counting, as well as a booming and optimistic market, it may certainly be not long enough before he reaches their goal and find its way into the hearts of pizza-loving Pinoys.
