Paper Moon Cake Boutique and Café - Now open in Glorietta 3, Makati & Trinoma

Japanese Mille Crepe place 'Paper Moon Cafe' opens two shops in Manila August 7 and 8

by
Viva Group of Companies' food division, Viva International Food & Restaurants, Inc., partners with Kazuko Emy Wada of Tokyo to open two cake boutique and café outlets this weekend. If you've never had a mille crêpe -- paper-thin handmade crepes delicately stacked to form a twenty-layer cake -- then now's the time to try some.

Paper Moon Cake Boutique and Café is now open in Glorietta 3, Makati, while its Trinoma outlet opens August 8, Saturday, 4pm. The signature dessert at Paper Moon is the Mille Crepe - a specialty of Mrs. Wada, who is called Tokyo's 'Grand Dame of Specialty Cakes,' - a cake she is famous for in Japan and has also been enjoyed in New York.

Cupcakes at the CupCake Lab

Cupcake Lab: Where Friendly Cupcakes Meet Exact Science

by Cityzen | Crystal Joy Rebucas
I have always preferred eating a slice of cake over the tiny versions that are cupcakes. I only warmed up to cupcakes recently, when I started hanging out with friends who bake. I would actually get homemade cupcakes as gifts, so I began to appreciate them. In the recent years when weekend baker’s fairs have become more popular, I joined the craze and tried out different pastries, and in the process became familiar with cupcakes of all flavors and sizes. Soon enough, I’m the one giving out boxes of my favorite cupcake finds to friends.

Forget Me Not Specialty Cakes By Chef Pixie Sevilla Santos

Forget Me Not Specialty Cakes: A Step Back in Time

by Cityzen | M.C. Jose
Chef Pixie Sevilla Santos has been playing her A-game for awhile now. She’s been fond of sweet things since she was a child, and even left to study abroad in order to pursue her dreams of becoming a pastry chef. “It was destiny for me to be here,” she remarks. “At that time, Seattle’s Best was just going to open, and they offered me to be their supplier. I already had some recipes that I wanted to label with Forget-Me-Not, but those were the things that customers had to get from my house.” They sublisted a space in Hot Rocks, but it didn’t work out quite so well, so Chef Pixie relegated back to a home-based business. Her clients wanted to be able to reach her at a more accessible location, so she decided to open up Forget Me Not Specialty Cakes, a small store in Makati.
