Ichiba: Japanese Market opened this month and is the first to bring in a Japanese seafood market concept in the Philippines. Inspired by Japan's Tsukiji wholesale market, Kuromon Ichiba Market ('Gastronome'), seafood from Kyushu, and crabs from Hokkaido, Ichiba seeks to give customers a different kind of Japanese dining experience.

The Ichiba: Japanese Market experience transports diners into a busy food market setting in Japan -- design and decor feature both modern and traditional Japanese details. You can seat yourself just by the open kitchen located in the center where bar seats are found. Function rooms are also available at the back of the restaurant.

Ichiba is bustling with food stalls serving Japanese staples. They have the favorites on their menu: Sushi, Rolls, Sashimi, Salad, Donburi, Ramen, Gyoza, Robatayaki, Tempura, Yakitori, and more.

A live aquarium display is found by the entrance, and in this area, guests can choose their seafood of choice to eat --- lobsters, crabs, fish and shellfish. A fishing pond is found beside the display where kids can 'catch' their meal for the day. Think of this seafood section of the restaurant as an upscale turo-turo or dampa, done the Japanese way. The Market Menu offers fish, shrimp, mussel and oyster, crab, and squid cooked in assorted ways, and is available in two price points: by 500 grams (500g and below), and 1kg (501-999g).

Imported steaks and meats are also availabe at the restaurant, as well as Japanese beverages, with Ichiba housing the first ever Asahi Bar in the Philippines. There is also a mini grocery where assorted delicacies, sweets, and treats are sold, all flown straight from Japan.

Ichiba: Japanese Market is located at the 2nd Floor of the Newport Mall in Resorts World Manila (beside Wolfgang's Steakhouse).
