Bono Artisanal Gelato - A Truly Authentic Italian Gelato

Bono Artisanal Gelato: It’s The Real Thing

by Cityzen | Crystal Joy Rebucas
My friends can attest how much I love ice cream. They always scold me for eating too much of it! One friend suggested I try gelato because she was told "it’s like eating healthy ice cream." I have since enjoyed the occasional scoop or two, until a week I was told I was not eating "real" gelato. I went back to eating ice cream, but was careful in choosing the brands, picking homemade ones over popular brands, while I wait for an authentic gelato brand to come along.

Spectrum, located inside the luxurious Fairmont Hotel, along Raffles Drive in Makati City, offers all-day dining and an impressive all-you-can-eat buffet during breakfast, lunch and dinner. At present, a trip to the restaurant is fuss-free because of the free basement parking available.

Cupcakes at the CupCake Lab

Cupcake Lab: Where Friendly Cupcakes Meet Exact Science

by Cityzen | Crystal Joy Rebucas
I have always preferred eating a slice of cake over the tiny versions that are cupcakes. I only warmed up to cupcakes recently, when I started hanging out with friends who bake. I would actually get homemade cupcakes as gifts, so I began to appreciate them. In the recent years when weekend baker’s fairs have become more popular, I joined the craze and tried out different pastries, and in the process became familiar with cupcakes of all flavors and sizes. Soon enough, I’m the one giving out boxes of my favorite cupcake finds to friends.

Typhoon Restaurant and Bar : Shabu-Shabu (Hot Pot)

Typhoon Restaurant and Bar: How to Eat Shabu-Shabu

by Cityzen | Crystal Joy Rebucas

My ideal lunch or dinner out is to go to a nice place, order from the menu, wait for a while and then once the food arrives, eat away. Somehow the idea of adding another step before the eating part, like in shabu-shabu (hot pot), becomes quite a chore for me.

Edgy Veggy Restaurant - A Vegetarian Resto in Kapitolyo, Pasig

Edgy Veggy: The Vegetarian Way of Being Deliciously Healthy

by Cityzen | Ana P. Santos
When you ask the owner of a restaurant how they started out in the food business,  you might expect to hear about a love for cooking and perhaps a long time dream of putting up a place to share this love with others.

What you might not expect to hear are stories of teaching inmates Yoga at the New Bilibid Prison.

Stacy's Restaurant - A Wonderful Fusion of Comfort Food

Stacy’s: A Place Like Home

by Cityzen | Katarina Antonio
Warm and dainty are the first words that come to mind upon entering Stacy’s. The pastel colors, florals, and charming knick-knacks all contribute to the homey atmosphere. This is exactly what the owners wanted. Stacy’s is the brainchild of prop and food stylists Angelique Castro and Aby Nachura. They wanted a happy place where families and friends could get together and enjoy good comfort food. That’s exactly what they’ve achieved. The interiors are so bright and welcoming that you can’t help but smile when you walk through the door.

Delicious Food at Greeka Kouzina Restaurant

Celebrating Life at Greeka Kouzina

by Cityzen | M.C. Jose
Popular culture seems to enjoy associating the Greeks with celebration. If films such as “Mamma Mia!” and “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” have anything to say about the Greek way of life, it is that they are big-hearted folks who find contentment in love, familial relationships and joy. Greeka Kouzina, one of the newest—and the blessed few—Greek restaurants in Manila is just as keen as expressing the celebration of life through their delicious food.

Smoper Chicken Dubbed as "Korea's Jollibee" is now in the Philippines

The Korean Invasion Continues With Smoper Chicken

by Marian Joy Hernandez

Dubbed as “Korea’s Jollibee,” Smoper Chicken has 800 outlets in the land of the morning calm. That’s like being Korea’s national fast food chain—not a small feat for a fried chicken joint.

Its location in One McKinley Place Podium at Bonifacio Global City makes it the first branch outside Korea and in the Philippines. Visit it any given day and you’ll likely see Koreans, in groups, enjoying a basket of fried chicken in this new shop. It’s also not surprising to see mostly young professionals grabbing a bite and taking a break from the offices located nearby because Smoper Chicken exudes an unassuming, no-fuss vibe that is both comfortable and familiar.

Las Flores - A Taste of Spanish Cuisine

Las Flores: As Spanish as It Gets

by Cityzen | Crystal Joy Rebucas
When you come upon a really strange challenge before reaching your destination, you may see it as bad luck; but most of the time I do manage to amass a certain degree of positivity to know it will be worth it. I say this because of the address of Las Flores: it says 25th Street in Bonifacio Global City, and it took us a while to figure out that the other half of the street is located on the other side of the block. They might as well name it another street because you know cars can’t slice through vacant lots and buildings.
