Weekday Lunch at Cafe 1771

Cafe 1771: Now Serving Daily Lunch Specials

by

It's always a delightful experience stepping inside Café 1771. I'm a sucker for pretty colors and arresting color combinations, so just drinking in the interiors and decor of both The Whimsy and The Lounge sections is good enough of a time. Place my personal cheesy favorites on the table, Raclette (P350) and Melt-in-your-mouth Grilled Cheese SW (P280), as well as their signature dessert darling, the Coffee Pie (P220), and you're bound to treat all your senses, from palette to palate.

Eat and Be Merry at Slappy Cakes Eastwood Mall

Have Some Happy Slappy Cakes

by

There are many pancake places in the metro that offer good quality breakfast foods and can give you that oomph in the morning. But no other pancake place can do it with the flair like Slappy Cakes.

Originally from Portland, Oregon, this new and hip breakfast place has come to our shores just recently and is now serving up pancakes, classic breakfast entrées, and Filipino breakfast favorites. Slappy Cakes opened in 2009 and has quickly become Portland’s go to breakfast spot by offering a one-of-a-kind DIY (do it yourself) dining experience to its customers. This restaurant also emphasizes local and seasonal organic produce for their food.

Mr. Bean Philippines - A Taste of Fresh Soya Milk, Taho and Pancakes

Mr. Bean Fresh Soya Milk, Taho, and Pancakes

by

Most lactose-intolerants-- individuals who lack the enzyme lactase and aren't able to digest the sugar lactose-- are able to remain symptom-free by shunning ice cream, milk chocolate, and cheese. But when you're a food-loving lactose-intolerant who grew up immersed in the restaurant industry like Anne King (second generation of the family that runs Jollibee Foods), you don't just “shun” milk. You go out of your way, in her case Singapore, to seek the best alternative. And once you've found it, in this case, Mr. Bean, you endure years of negotiations just to be able to share it with the rest of the country.
