Brew Your Best Food Feature

If you’re the type who would snap photos first before digging into your meal, then you must take your passion for food to another level. Join the writing workshop, “Brew Your Best Food Feature”, facilitated by Writer’s Block Philippines, an organization dedicated to empowering writers, communicators, and creative entrepreneurs. This event happens on March 25 (Saturday), 9am to 12pm at 26th St. Bistro by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf*, Net Lima, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
“In this introductory workshop, we’ll be sharing tips on how to write engaging food related articles and how to find story angles fit for publishing,” shares Ana P. Santos, a journalist who focuses on women and gender issues.

Santos is a regular columnist in Rappler and as the 2014 Persephone Miel Fellow for the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, her work has been published in The Atlantic, The Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post among other US outlets.
“Participants are not required to have any professional writing experience. As long as they have an interest in either food or writing—better if both—they’re welcome to attend the event,” says Nikka Sarthou-Lainez, a lifestyle writer who was chosen as one of the five Asian representatives for Moleskine’s Modern Nomads in 2012.

The event will also feature Bea Acosta, Features Editor of ClickTheCity.com, the Philippines’ definitive online entertainment and lifestyle guide that has been around for over a decade now. Acosta has witnessed how content online, especially food, has been dramatically evolving from web to mobile to social. To write about food in the online world, she believes you must know the food ecosystem well and you must always evolve to remain relevant and creative.
