To
say that Filipinos love to eat is an understatement. Whether it’s just a
couple dating or a whole clan celebrating an occasion, the Pinoy’s
gatherings usually revolve around food.
Now, you can have the entire world on your plate in one convenient location at spacious gardens next to The Filinvest Tent in Alabang, Muntinlupa City hosts the Gourmet Food Fair on Feb. 15 to 17 and March 9 to 10, from 5 pm-11 p.m.
Gourmet Food Fair features a wide array of cuisines, from Filipino, to modern Asian, to Mediterranean; from bottled sauces, preserves, and cakes, all in a relaxed environment amid Filinvest City’s lush greens.
“We want to showcase something different, beyond the usual burger, hotdog and siomai carts you see in malls. So we have invited hotels, restaurants, and food businesses to showcase the best of the best in their menus,” says Rose Nuqui, vice-president for Marketing, Filinvest Commercial Centers Group.
Participating in Gourmet Food Fair are The Palms Country Club, Hacienda Inasal,
Jeffrey Cal of Infinidad Entertainment, organizer of the event, the participants have been screened well to ensure the quality and the variety of the food fare offered in the fair.
“One of our participants, for instance, The Palms Country Club, has a good bakery section. They’ll be offering their popular ensaymadas, cakes and other pastries,” adds Nuqui.
The al fresco feel of The Filinvest Tent Gardens’ carefully planned greenery adds to the overall feel-good atmosphere of the event. ‘’You won’t just be coming in for the food, you can also relax with the ambience. When we decided to develop the Spectrum Piazza next to The Filinvest Tent, we decided to keep as much of the greenery as we could. The result is a space that’s not just beautiful but comfortable too with the shade of the 50 yr old acacia trees,” says Nuqui.
Apart from food items, the event will also feature home furnishings and collector’s items.
The fair runs simultaneously with two big shows at The Filinvest Tent: the “Love and Laughter” Feb. 15, Valentine concert with Mitch Valdes and Route 70 band and music legend David Pomeranz’s show in March 9.
