Starbucks Reserve in BGC

Starbucks Surfs Third Wave Coffee Movement, Opens Starbucks Reserve™ in BGC

by

Forget your usual "one grande non-fat, two splenda, latte machiatto" spiel and practice saying "a cup of Starbucks Reserve™ Aged Sumatra, brewed on the Clover, please?"

In response to the market's advancing knowledge and growing demand for a better cup of coffee, Starbucks US introduced  Starbucks Reserve™, its premium line of  rare, exotic, small-batch coffee, sourced from micro lots in West Java, Papua New Guinea, and Galapagos Islands.

The Starbucks Reserve™ concept has landed on the Philippine shores less than a month ago, first in Tomas Morato. Its second branch opens today, May 13, at G/F Eight Forbestown, Burgos Circle, BGC, Taguig City.

If Starbucks Reserve™ Philippines follows the same standards as its international counterparts, you can expect to meet "Coffee Masters" (no longer called baristas) behind the counter. They will be ready to answer your origin questions (Which beans would work well with ice? Which should be taken hot?) and demo their Starbucks-patented Clover brewing system.

Aside from coffee, Starbucks Reserve™ will also offer "upscale" food like muffins and scones.

What can you say about Starbucks' entry in the Third Wave Coffee market? Are you keen on trying their new blends?
