Wasabi Warriors Philippines, Sushi with a Green Heart

Now Open in Makati: Wasabi Warriors Philippines, Sushi with a Green Heart

by
At this new sushi place, hungry warriors are challenged to eat good, do good and feel good. Wasabi Warriors aims not only to serve delicious sushi rolls, but also to champion local, free range, fresh, biodegradable, recycled, and sustainable practices.

Wasabi Warriors is an Australian brand that has expanded to Hong Kong, and now the Philippines. Its first store in the country opened this week at Century City, Makati; What they're offering is not quite your average sushi and nigiri -- what makes them stand out among many sushi offerings in the metro is their green heart: all ingredients used in the restaurant are from premium single origin, and are locally sourced produce. Locavores, this is your new place to check out!

Food is made fresh daily in store, and at the end of the day if there are any food items not sold, they go directly to charity or to compost as fertilizer. It's a restaurant where customers can enjoy Japanese food in another way other than its flavors, knowing they are doing their little part in becoming a locavore, supporting local farmers and producers. Wasabi Warriors also mentions that they have close to zero food waste.

More sushi options: Wasabi Warriors specializes in brown and black rice sushi

Their sushi, called Warrior Rolls, are available in three kinds of rice: white, brown, and black, rolled with different kinds of ingredients to represent their five 'wasabi warriors': ocean warrior, porky warrior, beefy warrior, chicken warrior, and veggie warrior. For seafood lovers, there are pescetarian options like Tuna Mayo & Avocado (P100), Fresh Salmon & Avocado (P150) and Spicy Tuna Roll (P100); for meatier options, there's free range Honey Soy Chicken (P120), Pork Katsu & Avocado (P120) and Teriyaki Beef (P120). Warrior rolls also come in packs (P350 each) and they also offer a Sashimi Pack (P300). There are also other food items aside from their signature sushi, like Pork Gyoza (P150/6pcs, P80/3pcs), Miso Soup (P50), Chicken Teriyaki Udon (P250) and Beef Teriyaki Rice (P250). They will soon offer catering for your future sushi parties.
